MRS. LYDIA HARDESTY DEAD

Relatives about Summit Point received news of the death of Mrs. Lydia Hardesty on Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen Scanlon, in Morgantown, W. Va., where she had made her home for several years past. Two of her sons, C.T. and Robert S. Hardesty, were called to Morgantown because of their mother's critical condition, arriving there too late to see her alive.

Mrs. Hardesty was the widow of the late Mr. Charles R. Hardesty, for many years a prominent farmer and live stock dealer, of near Summit Point. Advanced age had made her health precarious for some time, and her last illness was of short duration. Besides the two sons referred to, Mrs. Hardesty leaves a third son, Mr. Tom Hardesty, of near Berryville, Va., and two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Moore, of Clarke county, and Mrs. Helen Scanlon, in Morgantown.

The remains were brought to Summit Point and the funeral was held yesterday from her old home place "Soldier's Retreat" at 2 p.m., services by the Rev. Dr. Sydnor of Charles Town. Interment was made in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville, Va.
