Abraham, John, Henry Hardesty, Muskingum Co. OH

Still working on this family. I think these three were brothers, born in Maryland, possibly sons of Henry Hardesty and Ann Selman of Anne Arundel County, MD, if this Henry is the one who settled in Union Township, Muskingum County, OH around 1803. In West Bethlehem Twp., Washington Co. PA census of 1800, Henry Hardisty, 45+, with wife 45+, listed with 3 males and 2 females under 10, and 2 males and 1 female 10-16. He is not there in 1793 tax list, nor in 1810 census, so probably came to PA from MD around 1798 and went on to Ohio. (Also in West Bethlehem Twp in 1800 is a Thomas Iams and a Mary Iams; is this the Thomas Iams whose son married Obediah Hardesty's daughter Mary?)

Abraham was born in 1789 in Maryland. No marriage record found yet for him and wife Elizabeth. He lived in Rich Hill Township, Muskingum Co. in 1830, then moved to Meigs Township by 1840. Children: Nancy, William, John, Henry, Lucinda, Elizabeth, Abram L., Isaac, Rebecca, and Nelson.

John was born after 1790 in Maryland. He married Mary Watson 22 June 1815 (Muskingum County record). He is in Rich Hill in 1830 and 1840, but died before 1850, as only his widow Mary, age 60, is on the census with some of their children (sons include Watson, 24; Hugh, 18; John, 16). I think another of their children may have been Esrom, born about 1816.

Henry was born about 1796 in Maryland. According to Muskingum Co. marriage records, a Henry Hardesty married Mary "Wattson" on 13 May 1815. I don't know if this is Henry Sr. or Jr. Henry (b. 1796) is listed in the 1850 census with wife Catherine. In 1830 he was still in Union Twp. In 1840 he is in Rich Hill. By 1850 he had moved to Salt Creek Twp. His children at that time were Henry, 21, and Catherine M., 18, who married neighbor Zenos Lefevre), but there were probably some older ones as well.

A major problem with this family has been the 1820 census. In Union Township that year are Ralph Hardesty, Henry Hardesty, and Frederick Hardesty, but no Abraham or John, despite the fact that both were married and fathering children in Union Township at that time. Abraham was also a soldier of 1812 from there, in Capt. Lewellen Pierce's company and McConnel's regiment. There are, however, living next to each other, a John, Abraham, and Henry "Henderson," with ages and children that correspond to what is known of these three Hardestys. None of these "Hendersons" is there in 1830, or anywhere else, from what I can tell searching the census; I suspect that these are the missing Hardestys.

Does anyone have Anne Arundel County deed or other records that might show Henry Hardesty leaving Maryland, or the names of any of his children? Who are Ralph and Frederick Hardesty's parents? Are they connected to Henry? It would be an amazing coincidence for them all to be in the same small township at the same time unless they were somehow related.
