Hello Everyone,
I am looking for parents and siblings of Joseph Hardesty. According to the 1880 Gallia County Census, Joseph, was born in Ohio about 1854. He married Sarah Williams on Feb. 4, 1877 in Gallia County.
Their children are Mary Viola, Jesse Benjamin, Calvin Preston, Effie A., Lewis Dolpha, William D., Chauncy T., Jennings B. and Cisco. Jennings was known as Bryan and Cisco was known as Seth. According to family members Bryan and Seth moved to Illinois and remained there. William and Lewis moved to Ross County Ohio and remained there.
The rest of the family stayed in Lawrence County Ohio or the surrounding area.
Also according to the census records, Joseph states that his father was born in MD, but there is some confusion about the birth place of his mother, she was born in either Ohio or Maryland.
Joseph died in 1902 in a mill explosion. If this story has been passed along or if any of the names are familiar to anyone please contact me. Thank you in advance.
