Hardesty men in the Civil War?

I have been trying to find out my relatives that were in the Civil War. My problem is that there are so many with the same name and the same state. I was wondering if there is information that has been put together on the Hardesty men that were in the Civil War. Information that might have their parents and or wife to try to narrow it down to find my relatives. I had relatives in Kentucky and Illinois that I know of where my Hardesty relatives were at that time.
