Mike. My Uncle S. C. Hardage GGGGrandson of Adam Hardage retired in 1954, he was Post Master of the post office in Jackson Ms.
He took a 4 week tour of Ms, Ala.Ga, and Sc.
doing familly research. I have all or most all of his notes from this trip.
He visited the Sons William, Andrew, and Joel, of James Mckinley Hardage in Opp Ala.
Je visted with a Lady Annie Eliza Hardage Married A Daniel, she was living with her
grandaughter Mrs Mary Ethel Colquitt At Yatesville Ga. about 12 miles east of Thomaston Ga. Annie E. Daniel had the familly bible of William Hardage son of Adam and Mariah Hardage. He viewed the bible suposedly in William's on hand writing.
He gathered the info for William Hardage's children.
He also noted that their was info on Adam Hardage familly in the bible, He recored that. also noted were references to Washington Hardage familly sons Adam, Washington Jr. and another son probally Zacharia. Adam's birthdate was recorded as
b. 1789 no dates for Washington Jr or Zack.
He then went to Upson co Ga. and did extensive land reasearch finding several refferences to Hardage land deeds.
One Adam Hardage deeded to Ellis Stafford 1011/4 acres for $400 Oct 7 1841 Book E page 478. There are several other Deed recordings in his notes pertaning to Hardages in Upson county Ga. 1841 to 1846. I have the book # and Page # for these.
He then went to the Rome, Meritta, Ga area
talked with some of the desendants of Washington Jr Hardage, Not many notes from this visit.
He then went to Edgefield Sc. and did land deed research, He mentions deeds for William Hardage and some reference to Possible Washington Hardage property but with no documintation.
His sumary was that Washington Hardage was probally the first emigrant of his fanily to come to the USA. It is thought he came from Ireland and settled in Edgefield SC.
He also notes that Washington Hardage had at least three sons, Washington Jr , Adam and one other son
His sumary for Washington Jr is A man of this name was known to have lived in Rome Ga
He states that he visited with many members of this family living in Rome, Narettia, Atlanta, and Rockmont Ga.
There are no notes of names of these people.
If someone could come up with the family bible that was in the posession of Annie E Daniels daughter of William, living with Mary Ethel Colquitt in Yatesville Ga. in 1955
I think it might shead some light on what we are looking for.
Any of this info you need , I will gladly give to you.

Terry
