Susan,
I think maybe we can help each other.I have considerable more information than you give but some of it differs from yours. The number of Thomas's definitely confuses things but mine is as follows (briefly).
Your Thomas was christened in 1827 in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, England. His parents were another Thomas & Rachel JOHNSON.That Thomas's mother was a Mary Harbone. The Thomas ch 1827 m Eliza FORD in 1847 in Bedfordshire & came to America in 1847.He & Eliza had:
1) Thomas b 1848 Bedfordshire, m Annie Lane in 1866 in England
2) NORMAN b 1850 Bedfordshire, m Eliza WOODCOCK/WOODSTOCK in 1872 in Genesse Co. MI & d 3 May 1925 in Saginaw.Bur: Mayville.
3)Zilpah Elizabeth, ch 1856 Bedfordshire, m Coredon Slafter
4)Samuel G. b 1860 Bedfordshire, m Julia Francis Maxwell
I cannot tell from your query who the parents of your Gordon C. were, & his obit only names a bro Erwin from the 2nd marriage, so I cannot link him up with my information.
It sounds like he was a "Charles S." (which I got from heaven knows where). Charles S. was b 12/22/1883 in Fremont, did marry a Mabel & did die in 1907.
My question to you is:Who was the Norman who died in 1925 in Saginaw then?I do have his obit & he was b in 1850 in England & came here in 1868.
