Just seen your message on the Forum. I believe your Thomas Harber, charcoal burner, may be my great grandmother's brother. She was Mary Jane born 1840 in Surrey. Their father was Stephen Harber born about 1800 in Sussex. Both Thomas(also born in Sussex) and Mary Jane (known as Jane) appear on the 1851 Census with other family members. It seems all the male members of the family were charcoal burners. If you contact me I will pass on other info I have on the family.
