My G G G Grandfather was
John Hanson
B 7 Jan 1818 Vermont
D 16 Sept 1906 Pierrepont NY
I have a photo of his gravestone on my Ancestry account
Some info...a couple of things might be off as the census reports show same wife and children, but different states of Birth...I will be looking into this further in some alternative sources.
He married Eliza Ayres in NY in 1849
resided in Peru, Clinton from
1850-1860 (census)
1870-1880 has him in Russell, NY
1900 has him in Pierrepont
I have been looking for info on John's parents and found the Tobias Hanson you mention. It is in the 1850 census and he was living with John Hanson in 1850. His place of Birth is listed as New Hampshire and I cannot find any other info about him so far. Please let me know if you locate any other info. I will be happy to send my ancestry link for you to check what is there so far
