Hi, this one is a long shot but I was interested in finding out if there are any descendants of this family looking to learn more about their family through DNA testing? This William had a patent on land in Monoghelia which ended up being in Braxton County, VA, from which his descendants in Union Co., KY sold it.

I am descended from Francis Hanshaw of Mason County, VA who bought land in Braxton also within the 10 yr period of time that the above Hanshaw's were selling land. The chances are slim that they are related, but it would certainly be worth finding out for sure through DNA testing. The more people who test, the more new relatives we will all find. It will also help a lot of people break down those walls that have been standing so long.
I love to talk about DNA testing because it has helped in 3 of my surnames so far, and this is the last one that I really want to solve before I die (not that I am planning on going anywhere soon). I'll be happy to answer questions and direct you to who might have the answer if I don't.

This project will be even more interesting because of the many name changes there are!
