Larry,
This information has several eerie coincidences to what I know of Andrew Hansen (my grandfather). Most of what I know is conjecture, formulated from hearsay, much non substantuated. From his obituary (he died in 1930) it stated that he was born in Sioux City, IA in 1850.Sioux city was just north and east of Admah...and was probably the most significant reference point for anyone in that area.My mother has said that he never said much about his past, but that he had mentioned that he came over by himself at age 14.I figured if he came at 14 he came in 1864, but he would have been 14 in 1865 also. Maybe he didn't come exactly by himself, or may have preceded his mother and siblings by a short time.
If Andrew's mother was also American born, as I think, it would have made sense for her to return to the USA with her family, especially if her husband had died.I know Andrew was in Utah, as stated in his obituary, his obituary also stated he was in Nevada and Montana. He is verified as being in Idaho in 1883.
Since Walter and Anna returned to Admah it was probably to be with their mother's family, especially if she had died in Utah...Andrew may have been older and struck out on his own???
