According to family legend, the HANSON/EN family fled Sweden in the 16th century (religious persecution) and settled in N. Ireland, where David Mark HANSON fell for Sidney MAJOR.Legend has it that they married without Sidney's father consent and sailed for America with their oldest child, a daughter, who died at sea.My grandfather (or his cousin Pat) claims David Mark and Sidney had seven children (of unknown birth order):Mary, Trussy, James Madison, William, David, George Major, and Sidney Major (female). My ancestor George Major, two of his brothers (David & __?), and his sister Sidney Major Apperson all moved to Coles County IL about 1826.I have more stuff...not entered in a database (but it's this week's project).I collect collateral families and would like to know more about your Mary Ann.I have some material (a timeline with events) on the doings of David Mark and Sidney in Russell/Tazewell Co. VA.I don't know their parents...do you?I'll share if you want the material.Email at [email protected].
