I have been tracing my family and am hung up at Theophilus Hansel myself. IF Theophilus and his half brother, Henry Hinson, move to Henry County, TN...they had the same mother, different fathers.

Henry's mother was Mary B: 1781 D: 1855 in Henry Co, TN.

Everything I have read says that Sarah Ann Speed married her 1st cousin and that was Henry Hinson. Sarah's mother is Nancy "Pan" Hinson Speed. One of her brothers is Obadiah Hinson. All information states that Henry Hinson's parents are Mary and Obadiah Hinson.

Mary would have been Theophilus' mother and Henry's too.

So, who was the Hansel that is Theophilus's father? Theophlius states he was born in North Carolina July 21, 1801.

What would have been Mary's madien name? Could they be Mary Hansel and Henry Hansel? Both Hansels? The husband must have died between 1801 and 1807 (or possibly 12/19/1814 in TN) because Henry Hinson was born between 1807 and 1814.

Mary died as Mary Hinson in 1855 and is buried at the Allmond Cememtery with her husband, Obadian Hinson in 1850.

Any thoughts...

Belinda
