Hanratty Family Genealogy Forum

Pat,
I was going to reply to you so, thank you for reading my email. There are few things I need to know. Do you have relatives there, and what counties are they from? The Hanrattys are spread out heavily in 3 counties, Armagh, Louth, and Monaghan, and there are some in counties Dublin and Cavan. My family came from Crossmaglen in the townland of Rathkeelan in county Armagh. I have contacts in this country with Kathy Hanratty and Chuck Henretta, whose descendants came from Carrickmacross in county Monaghan, and had relatives with different spellings of their names in northwest Pennsylvania, i.e., Henretta, Henrietta, etc. So we're going to need some specifics, and Kathy has an enormous database on the Hanrattys. I know this is going to be tough as some of the Hanrattys keep or kept to themselves. Anyway, I would be glad to give you any information I have, and there is a possibility I may go to Ireland, hopefully, in late summer. The last time I was there was in 1999, and I'm long overdued to go back. Well, hope to hear from you, and sorry for waiting to reply to you.
