My daughter Lucy has forwarded your comments on Callan, which interest me greatly, as my mother was born there. I am particularly interested in your transcriptions of Kilbride. My grandparents are buried there, and I would welcome anything you may have on them. My grandfather was Thomas O'Shea, and he died in 1905 at age 30, when my mother was only one week old. Thomas's wife, Elizabeth (Dooley), remarried five or six years later, and she and her second husband, Edmund Neary, are also buried at Kilbride.
When I was last in Ireland, in 1978, I visited Kilbride and noticed an imposing tombstone to a young priest named O'Shea, erected by an O'Shea who became Archbishop of Wellington, New Zealand. My mother often referred to the Archbishop as a relative, but I was never able to authenticate that connection.
I also have ancestors buried at the cemetery at Grange.
I should add that I have befriended an Irish historian, named Fidelma McCarron, who hails from Inistioge and now lives in Portland, ME, which is nearby. If you are interested in Inistioge history, she is extremely knowledgeable.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
