HI Larry,
My Handrahan was JOHN THOMAS HANDRAHAN, according to Census of 1881 he was listed as aged 36 yrs, but his marriage of Oct.1876 listed him as being 26 yrs old, so he was born ca. 1850-54. Born in P.E.I. his marriage records listed his father as JOHN Handrahn - ship's carpenter . They were living in Saulnierville Digby Co., Nova Scotia. HE remarried a second time and his second wife died in Jan/1891 and when the census came out in April of 1891 he is not listed, but his children are living with other families, as my grandfather is his first born child, born in July of 1878. Under all the children's info where it asked where father was born, it was listed as P.E.I. I have written numerous times to archives in P.E.I. and the only JOhn that fit that date did not match with mine as the one that sent me is listed in 1881 Census as living with his parents in P.E.I. while my great-grandfather is living in Saulnierville with his wife and two children. After 1891 I could not find him as tradition says he moved to the United States. Do you think there might be a connection??
