Helen Hannon's mtDNA

Hello: I just had my mtDNA tested, which is identical with that of my mother, Helen Marie Hannon, born 7 April 1898 in Olean, N.Y., died 19 June, 2002 in Orange, CA. The tests disclosed that the deep maternal ancestors of Helen belonged to Haplogroup U5a1. Any direct female descendants of Helen, or her direct female ancestors would belong to that group as well. Such descendants would be in the direct female line from Helen's mother Caroline Amelia Hodges (b.1867), her mother Emily Louisa Tubbs (b. 1843), her mother Polly Miranda Holmes (b. 1824), her mother Polly Miranda Wilcox (b. 1789), her mother Elizabeth Bates (b. abt. 1770), her mother Hopestill Morey (b. abt. 1750), the daughter of Joseph Morey of Exeter, R.I. The U5a1 group lived in central Europe about 40,000 years ago and spead to Britain after the last ice age. Questions are welcome. Just e-mail me. Don Blankman, dblank@comcast.net.
