20 + Years and Still Searching HANAN / HANNAN / HANNON

Still searching for the Ancestors & Descendants of Frank HANNAN any information on The HANNAN / HANNON / HANAN / HANUM Family. My Grandfather, Frank HANNAN, name could be spelled any of the various ways. Frank was believed born about 1880 in St. Louis Missouri, according to his Death Certificate, however this was only a guess. All of the various spellings of the name are in my immediate family. It is believed that Frank's ancestors were of Irish descent. Frank was believed to have been orphaned and possibly sent to the Midwest, in Kansas, to work the farms, or sent to relatives. All Speculation at this point. No other family members, parents or siblings of Franks are known at this point. Frank is located on the 1900 Census in Ellis, Kansas. There is another HANAN FAMILY living in the same general area and I do believe that my Grandpa Frank may in some way be connected. It would be the family of Bradford P. HANAN.

There is one thing that does set this line apart, and that is the fact that a rare heriditary desease, known as "HUNTINGTONS CHOREA" or "HD" as it is now known, does run in this line. Grandpa Frank had it and several of his children inherited it also. I am assuming that it was passed through his father, but not positive. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can't get beyond his death in 1937!

Have any of you other HANNAN / HANNON / HANAN / HANUM families ever heard of or know anything about this medical problem running in your line also? Fortunately, my Father and I were not afflicted with HD, so it has stopped in my direct line. This would be a positive but unfortunate link to finding my HANNAN line as it is HERIDITARY. However not every member of the family is afflicted with it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
