Johanna Drawarth
Back in 1992, I researched in the Luthern Seminary library in GermantownPA.looking for Hans Jorge Hannold History.
I was able to have the Archivist copy from the original record book of old St. Michaels Zion Lutheran Church.Pages from the years 1757,1759, 1760,and 1765.
each page contains references to Hans Jorge and his wives.
"ie" 1759 lists Georg Hinholt and Fanny as parents of Catharina Elizabeth born on July 25th 1757.Sue Young, a Hannold researcher, thinks that this is the same Georg Hannold who married Johanna Drawarth, I wonder why, if this is the same George, he called Johanna "Fanny"? by the way, this child is being christened in July 22,1759,
Page marked 1757 the fourth entry shows Hans Georg Honald and Johanna having their son Johann Isaac born on Aug. 28, 1755 and christened in May 1757.
Most of us who have done this research have not mentioned t Cathrina Elizabeth, because of the name "Fanny". Every where else in what I have discovered, except this one instance, she is called Johanna.I have to admit that early on I had thought the same as Sue Young, but later, I felt that it was just a different Georg and Fanny. My reasoning was based on the copy of Georg's Will that I have a copy of. In it he names his children by name "ie" ITEM I give and Devise unto my son Georg immediately after the widowhood of my wife, all that my said house and lot in Haddonfield, he my said son paying there only when he obtains the age of twentyone years, unto my son Andrew, the sum of thirty pounds current money of West Jersey and to my son Isaac, and my daughters Elizabeth, Mary, Rebekah Sybilla the sum of ninty pounds".
There is no mention of Cathrina Elizabeth? Did the infant die? Having visited the Colestown Cemetary many times in the past ten years I have found that there are only three stones, one is Georg, one is 'Rachel and one is Margaretha, However in at least one notation from historic records I have read there is a claim that a child of Hans Georg Hannold is buried there, I havenever been able to find a sign of it. Is this infantCathrina Elizabeth?
Finally, I have determined that if this is true then the mystery of Johanna could be solved.Johanna died in child birth bearing Cathrina Elizabeth. In 1759 Fanny ( a Friend?) was standing with Georg as parent? But then Where did Cathrina Elizabeth go? She never appears in Georg's life that we can find.
