Been trying to find information about my Grandfather for my Father and Aunt for years with no luck as very little information. Would really appreciate any help. Understand he was born in Limerick circa 1895 (date note certain). Parents stated on marriage cert as Patrick and Margaret. Possible DOB is August. He died on 13 June 1936. Death notice in the paper makes reference to 'American Newpapers please note' so must be family in America. Also mentioned he had been living Dublin 30 years and working Clonliffe College Dublin for 20 years. He was a native Irish speaker and signed his name Padraig O'hAnnain sometimes and at other times Patrick Hannan. He married Anne/Annie O'Dea from Limerick in Dublin 1927. They had five children Patrick, James, Mary (May), Christopher, Brendan. Just found out that possibly had cousins called Grace from Limerick, Bridget Grace mother whom possible was his Father's sister so Bridget Grace (nee Hannan) age 50 in the 2001 census Limerick. Two of Bridget's children (possible my Grandfather's cousins) Ann or Annie Grace and Norah Grace moved to New York, lived in the Bronx. Norah Grace married a Mr Albert. A Johanna Hannan age 70 named as Grandmother in 2001 census living with the Graces so assume she is Bridget Grace's Mother and my Grandfather's Grandmother. Many thanks to anybody who might be able to help.
