I am interested in the wife of WILLIAM HANNA (1796-1871) whose first name was PHEBE (Phoebe). I am trying to determine if she was a sister to my husband's 4th great-grandfather. The 1820 PA Census for my husband's family has 4 heads of households all grouped together for Georges Twp., Fayette County, PA. They are: Jacob Derry Bazel Derry Mary Derry Phebe Derry or Hannah The above MARY DERRY is the confirmed mother of BAZEL, and in all probability also the mother of the other two, JACOB and PHEBE. It appears that PHEBE DERRY married a man with the surname of HANNAH (Hanna). She has two small children with her in that census. Husband not accounted for. BAZEL was born in 1793 and JACOB was born in 1795. The census records indicate that PHEBE was born about 1795-1796 so the timeframe fits. The family did move into SW Pennsylvania from the Loudoun County area of Virginia. Phebe's birth state is recorded as Virginia. The 1850-1860 Census shows WILLIAM and PHEBE HANNA living in Liberty, Union County, Indiana and then in 1870 living in Danville, Des Moines, Iowa with one son, JOHN HANNA. The history of Union County, Indiana states that it was taken from 3 other counties -- one of them being Fayette County, IN where several of my husband's DERRY family moved to living in Connersville -- so there is a close association there. Another researcher stated that WILLIAM's children were: Abner, John, Craig and Washington. Thanks in advance for any help that might be out there.
