I am searching for information about the parents and siblings of my gr-grandmother, Joanna (or Johanna) E. Hannaford b: 18 Nov 1865 and her sister, Mary Belle Hannaford b: 15 Nov 1869. Both were believed born in or near Brownville, Nemaha Co., NE. Joanna died on 02 Apr 1949 in Auburn, Nevada Co., CA. She married (probably abt 1888) David Stonewall VanMeter b: 12 Jan 1866, Meade Co., KY. They were married near Brownville and had six children. Mary Belle Hannaford died on 29 Mar 1959 in National City, San Diego Co., CA. She never married.
The California Death Records for both sisters show that their mother's maiden name was Laughlin.
The Eulogy for Mary Belle Hannaford says that she had three brothers and sisters. It is believed that the other names were Olivia Hannaford, James W. Hannaford, Robert Mitchell Hannaford, Rebecca Hannaford, and Richard Hannaford.
The Eulogy also states that the Hannaford parents came from Cincinatti, Ohio by covered wagon in 1857. It might be that only the father came from Ohio.
Does anyone have any information about the names, birth and death data of the parents and siblings of Joanna E. Hannaford and Mary Belle Hannaford?
