Family Name Hannaford Hill
My research into the Horsham family ancestry came up with an Ellen Louisa Hannaford Hill who married Richard Henry Horsham at the Registry Office Totnes Devon England on the 25th of December 1878. Her parents were George Hannaford (occupation: Butcher) and Irena Hill from Stoke Gabriel Devon. Two other relatives witnessed the marriage, William Henry Hannaford Hill and Marthe Hannaford Hill. Whether the witnesses were Ellen Louisa's siblings or not I do not know.
Ellen Louisa Hannaford Hill's birth certificate (b. 24/12/1843 Stoke Gabriel) does not show her father's name and occupation. Ellen Louisa Horsham nee Hannaford Hill died at Totnes Devon in June 1914.The name Hannaford-Hill may have arisen out of the union between George Hannaford and Irena Hill. I can not find a record of marriage. Maybe someone out there can enlighten me.
The GRO BMD references for the above are:
Dec Qtr. Vol 5b pg 340, marriage.
Dec Qtr. Vol 9 pg 507, birth
