Hi,
I would bet money that the Robert that the person wrote to you about is the correct one. I believe John Houwy/Howey arrived at the same time. John had brothers Jacob and Joseph and sisters Elizabeth and Martha who all arrived in Philadelphia about 1737/38. We have the wills of Jacob and Joseph, and we believe Elizabeth was married to a Patten who died after arrival in America, she then married my Ancestor, Abraham Howey and they settled in Oxford, Sussex, NJ. Oxford is just across the Delaware River from Smithfield. I believe Elizabeth may have been a cousin to Abraham, they were all from Northern Ireland.
We have never found John Howey/Houwy's will. We have searched and searched, but I think it may have been lost in the Indian raids of the 1750's and 1760's in the Smithfield area.
Have you ordered a copy of Robert Hanna's will? I believe the one listed below is the original Robert's. If not, it is probably his son Robert's.
Wills: H - O Abstracts of Northampton County, PA; 1752-1802
257 HANNA, Robert Lower Smithfild
5-5-1777 - 5-7-1777
wife Margaret
son Benjamin
son Robert
grandson John SEALY
granddau. Elenor SEALY
grandson Robert son of Robert
ex. Timothy JAYNE
wit Joseph PENNELL, Ebenizer JAYNE and John ARNST

I do have the info from the Smithfield Church or the baptisms of John and Margaret's children, but thank you for sending it.
Let me know if I can share anything else with you.
Barbara
