Thank you, Eddie. This is another branch of the Family Tree, obviously. Halswell is the place where the local Clan appears to be centred. Greendale is an area, rather than a settlement, about 25 miles west of Christchurch. When they settled in Halswell, it would have been a country village but is now a thriving outer suburb of Christchurch, about 5, or so, miles to the south-west of the City. We have met, not by design, a couple of that Hann Clan including Mike Hann, who shares the same name as our elder son. I married a local, Christchurch, girl, in 1968 and, each time anything to do with us (Engagement, marriage, births of the two boys, etc.) appeared in the local 'papers, there would be a woman ring us up, enquiring if we were related to the Hann's of Halswell. I'd swear that it sounded like the same person every time. A niece of mine, formerly living in Adelaide, was chasing up our Family Tree but I'm afraid that I have no idea how far she got with it. She was going to give me an update but has, instead, married and shifted to, last I heard, Malaysia. I have a very good friend in Adelaide, whom I've know for over 50 years, and he, as the occasions arise and he sees them, sends me over copies of Hann Death notices which he has culled from the local 'papers.
