My family is from Western New York (Erie and Wyoming Counties). My great grandfather, Joseph Hoenle, was born in Hainsfarth, Bavaria, in 1820 and emmigrated to NJ around 1850, and then around two years later moved to Erie County and in 1875 to Wyoming County. His wife was Margaret Winch or Winsch (actually Wuensch) and their children were John Hanley (b.1851), Sarah Hanley, Mary Hanley, Helen Hanley, Michael Hanley, and Joseph S. Hanley.

The spelling of the name changed many times over the years (Honle, Honley, Henley, Hanly, Hanley) so I am curious whether any Hanle family members might be related to Joseph Hoenle.

Hainsfarth Bavaria is near Augsburg Germany in the Donnau-Ries region.
