I was so caught up with Luke Sr. in that county it never occurred to me this could be the son of Abraham. I only have a few records of Luke Jr. prior to his migration to Kentucky.

Luke Hanks, possible son of Abraham of Pr. Wm., was born by 1769 to be of record in 1790 Halifax Co. NC Tax Lists - Luke Hanks 1 white pole, 1790 Halifax Co. NC census has Luke Hanks 1 male over 16, 2 females. On 22 June 1790 Halifax Co. Luke Hanks witnessed the will of Thomas Merritt. 1800 Halifax Co. NC census has Luke Hanks 00100 – 31010. The 1800 tax lists of Halifax shows Luke Hanks 1 free poll. 1802 Halifax Co. NC tax has Luke Hanks 1 free poll, cripple thigh broke. On 13 Mar 1807 Luke Hanks witnessed a deed in Halifax Co. NC.

1830 Knox Co. Tn census – Luke Hanks 001100001 -00011001
Nancy Hanks mar. Peter French 3 July 1810 in Knox Co. Tn. Nancy was born about 1795 in NC. The 1837, 1838, 1839 Breckinridge Co. Ky. tax lists – Luke Hanks
1840 Breckinridge Co., Ky. census – Luke Hanks 0000200001 – 100021001 and Peter French 1001301 - 0011101 who had married Nancy Hanks.
