You may already know about this but the Missouri Secretary of State has an on-line database of death certificates from 1910-1956. The link is at
http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/

If you run a search there you will find an image of the death certificate for William Henry 'Burnett' Hanks. It shows his place of birth as Kentucky. His father is listed as Wm. Burnett Hanks, b. Ky. His mother is listed as unknown.

Keep in mind that the information was provided by the informant and could be wrong.
