I heard from someone that said John Scoggins was a house painter and died as a result of a fall from a ladder.Sarah margaret moved back to Cherokee co but was buried with her husband.
You will note, James Haney and Ella Scoggins gave their children many of the very same names as Ella's siblings...including Ella and Felton.
I found Ella's grave in Soddy Daisy TN...Granny Walker Cem.Her son Benjamin is also buried there.
Ella's daughter Emma Jane Haney married Charles Henry Smith in Soddy Daisy in 1912.
A few years after Ella Scoggins Haney died, Rev James Haney married Willie Annie Smith, his son-in-law's single mother. The married in 1919..she was then 51 and never married."Annie" was the daughter of William Henegar Smith of TrentonDade Co GA...county sheriff, and Mary Caroline Mathes. (Payne Cem Trenton GA)William fought at the battle of Chicamauga and had his horse shot out from under him.He reportedly walked home with his boots filled with blood.Annie's sister Alice Jane Smith died in Soddy Daisy in 1957.Alice married an immediate neighbor boy from Trenton GA whoselast name was also Smith.
Charles' youngest son, Rev Donald Leslie Smith , died this past Oct 13 in Fort Oglethorp.Bur Harrison Cem.Only one child remains living and she is not expected to live too much longer.Don had been pastor of a number of churches over the years and was a missionary to the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry at the time of his death.
"Don was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Jane Smith, brothers Clarence (William Clarence,) Glenn (my Dad,) James; sisters Jewell Smith, Letty stutz, Ella Sutfin and Anna Souders."Anna has two living children.Glenn has 8 living children.
Sister Patricia Wilkinson survives...plus several children and step children, and wife Wisteria (Terry) Picklesimer Smith.Since several survivors have the Picklesimer name I presume Wisteria's maiden name wasn't Picklesimer.
As kids we used to tell folks we had an aunt named Wisteria Picklesimer. It sounded "funny" to 9-year-olds.
