Is George HANEY the father of Sarah who md Henry ADAMS 1830 in St. Clair Co,ALA?
I just connected with the HANEYS of St. Clair Co., Alabama. My Great Aunt Lucy Adams Watkins wrote that her father (my great grandfather) John Quincy ADAMS father's name was Henry ADAMS and that his mother married 2nd James H. SEWELL. I was very excited when I found a marriage of a Susan HANEY and a Henry ADAMS 15 Sep 1830 in St. Clair Co., ALA.
The only HANEY in that period of time in St. Clair Co., ALA is a George F. HANEY (1830 St. Clair Co., ALA Census pg. 228). Therefore, I've built a family for him using marriage and census records.
In 1840 George HANEY moved to Marshall Co., ALA along with Isaac HANEY and there isn't any one with the HANEY name in St. Clair Co., ALA until 1850 when there is a William HANEY (b. 1829 SC), wife Nancy and son Elijah (b. 1850).
All the marriages were in St. Clair Co., Ala. This is my South Carolina to ALA "put together" George F. HANEY family of St. Clair Co., ALA:
(I think a George T. Haney (Methodist minister of Marshall Co., ALA-who married Mary Elliot could fit in here nicely)
Thomas Haney (b. abt 1804) md 1830 to Tabitha BAREFIELD
Lydian Haney (b. abt 1806) md 1826 to Alexander BROWN
Nancy Haney (b. abt 1808) md 1829 to James JONES
Isaac Haney (b. abt 1810) md 1833 to Elizabeth BAREFIELD
Possibly MY Susan Haney md 1830 to Henry ADAMS
Parmelia Caroline Haney (b. abt 1815) md 1836 Allen BOX
Any help with any of these families would be appreciated.
