Jack, The Marion and Nathan Hanes that you referred to in your post, were they relatives, or just research.

I have been unable to find any records for my ggrandfather Charles Hanes. He was supposed to have served in the Civil War. He was born 1/22/1849 (Ft Wayne, Indiana,no documentation) and died of pnuemonia 3/3/1907 in Sageeyah, Oklahoma. His birth and death dates were taken from his tomb stone in the Sageeyah cemetery.
His wife Delilah applied for his Civil War pension, but was denied. The reason I am questioning this, is that he named his 2nd son Nathan. Nathan was born about 1880.Any info, would be greatly appreciated.

Judy Hanes Thornton
