Hi Judy,

You wrote me thru the Indiana site and asked if I was related to the Hanes family. No relation, just do 'lookups' to help others when I can. I find TV boring!

Glad to help with a lookup if I can. Just a few backup questions.

You state in this query:

"Charles Hanes born Dec 22,1847 Wayne Co, Indiana (No Documentation) To John and Evelyn Hanes. Died Mar 2 1938 Oklahoma."

How do you know this is your Charles that died 02 mar 1938 in OK??? Where in OK? I ask because on the 1910 OK census Delilah (Lila) is listed with her children and listed as a widow. Also found her on the 1910 & 1920 OK census, do you already have these?

Did you know that Delilah A. Hanes filed for a widows Civil
War Pension in the Indian Terr in 1907??? Another reason that I ask about 'your' Charles Hanes death date.

Could this Charles that died in 1938 be their son instead?

Found several of their sons on the WW1 Draft Registration, with their full names and date of births.......do you already know this info??

The Charles Haines/Hanes bn 1847 in Wayne Co, Indiana is listed on several trees as the s/o John Haines bn Maryland and Eleanora Farquhart bn Maryland; md 1820's in Maryland. They list 5 children born in Indiana. BUT when I checked the 1850 & 1860 census I noticed that their oldest child listed with them is William bn 1834 IN and the next child is bn 1843.....thats a big span 10yr span. AND keep inmind that on the 1850 & 1860 census they do not state relationship in the household. So although children listed in household may be sons/daughters it is not certain.

Hope this helps
Marsha
