My paternal grandfather, Karl Handlir, spent time in South Dakota and lived in New York late 1800's - early 1900s. My father, Josef Handlir (changed to Joseph Handler prior to entry into the army in WWII) born in New York 1912. Have been told that gramps imigrated from Bohemia, but trail has gone cold.
