Looking for the Handley family formerly of Kansas City
Deceased Name: JOHN V. HANDLEY
John Vernon Handley, 72, Versailles, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, died Feb. 18, 1992, at the home. He was born in Omaha, Neb., and lived in this area before he moved to Versailles in 1983. Mr. Handley was an architectural engineer for the University of Missouri-Kansas City; he retired in 1983. Earlier he worked for Crimsco Inc. And the Vendo Co. He was a member of the Golden Beach Community Church, Barnett, Mo. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Helen Evelyne Miller Handley of the home; three sons, Robert Handley and James Handley of Prairie Village and David Handley, Blue Springs; three stepsons, Rex Weddle, Sleepy Hollow, Ill., Forrest Weddle, Olathe, and Dr. Gary W eddle, Las Vegas; a brother, Harvey Lee Handley, Delray Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-granddaughter. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church; cremation. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the church's building fund.
