I have been researching the Handfords for a while too.
Eliza Scriffen was born in Bedminster, father Captain Thomas Scriffen.
I have chased James Handford back to Uffculme.
My great grandparents were Robert Handford and Mary Louisa Jefferies.
My grandmother was born in Birmingham after the family moved from Bristol
