Hancox in South Africa

I've noticed that there are alot of Hancox's in England, the USA and Canada, but I still don't know how we got to South Africa. We are very few in South Africa and as far as I could find out, the earliest settlement of Hancox's in South Africa was near Knysna (in the Western Cape Province). The family names include Henry, Joseph, Martin and Matthew. If anybody has more information, they can e-mail me at janihancox@yahoo.com. It will be greatly appreciated.
