I only discovered yesterday that Richard Hancorn (1627-1704) was my great (x8) grandfather. He was the son of Thomas Hancorne (also known as Hunt) of Whitney, Herefordshire, who had three sons: Samuel and Thomas Hancorne and Richard Hancorn (so that is probably where the Hancorn name began).

The male line goes as follows from there;
Richard - 1652-1729
Samuel - 1688-?
Samuel - 1714-1766
Thomas - 1764-1847
Thomas - 1792-1873
John - 1822-1903
John - 1878-1944
Peter - 1918-2004
Peter David (me) b.1942
Alan Peter (son) b.1969
