HANCOCK ROSE, Saratoga then Albany County, 1779

The name Hancock Rose sugests that his given name was a surname.

Thus I am looking for any evidence that there was a Hancock family in the area of Saratoga, which was then Albany County, NY.

In 1779 Hancock Rose's farm Hancock Rose's farm on the Saratoga Patent was assessed at $10.00 (probably Continental dollars).

Any information about a Hancock family in the pre-Revolutionary War era, particularly in the environs of the Saratoga Patent in NY, would be greatly appreciated.

Sharilyn
