Could ELI F. HANCOCK (b. 1809, NC) who died in Lamar CO., TX, having married (1) Mary Hannah Powell; (2) Fredonia Moddy Faught...have been named ELI FLETCHER HANCOCK?

There is a will for ROGER HANCOCK made 2-10-1817 and proved at the May Court 1818, Orange Co., NC. He named his wife, NANCY; daughters Susannah, Polly W., and Betsey; sons WESLEY HANCOCK "my big Bible"; FLETCHER HANCOCK, "my small Bible,"

ROGER could have been the son of the JAMES HANCOCK who made is will in 1816 and proved May Ct 1816, Orange Co., NC. He
named his wife, CLARISSA; sons, William and James, each $1; children of deceased son, Stephen, $1 each; daughter Betsey Franklin; sons Robert, Nathan, ROGER; daughter, Polly; 2 youngest children sons Stanley and John Hancock. Extrs, wife, Clarissa, and son, Nathan Hancock.

Nathan Hancock made his will 4-11-1816, proved May Ct 1816.
Names brothers Robert and ROGER; mother, sister, POLLY HANCOCK; my sister POLLY's little daughter HENRIETTA, $100;

Any thoughts?

Bob
