Greetings:
I am descended from the William and Sarah (nee Thompson) Hancock of the previous message, through their daughter Sarah who married James Chambless/Chamless.
I hope to establish the family's precise connection to the Hancock House and Hancock's Bridge of Salem, New Jersey; individuals married Chambless and Basset, both of whom also had houses in the area according to Sickler's "The History of Salem County New Jersey".
The line goes like this:
Generation 1. William Hancock, d. 1679, m. Isabella bef. 1677 in Middlesex England; she died 1689
Gen 2. William Hancock (1677-1762) m. Sarah Thompson
Gen 3. Sarah Hancock, d. abt. 1755, m. 1742 James Chambless/Chamless, he died 1750
Gen 4. Sarah Chambless/Chamless (1748-1820) m. 1765 William Smith (1741-1819)
Gen 5. Mary Smith (1766-1797) m. 1792 John Ellett (1769-1824)
Thanks in advance for any replies.
