In the book, Dead Towns of Alabama, Hanby's Mill is the one you mentioned as in Jefferson Co., near Pinson, belonging to David Hanby. But is that the same place as where the other Hanby's died or was there another place known as Hanby's Mill.
I have not come across the cemeteries: Green or Opossum Ridge. I am really knew into my research. I have found people that have done extensive research on the Gambles and on David Hanby, but not on James Dalton. Do you have info on when the Hanby's moved from Virginia to Tennessee. Also what kind of Mill did John or James D. operate? I have gotten several helpful books at the Library but again the focus is on David Hanby. Do you know where Hagood's Crossroads is? Would there be information on William Newton's burial in the Methodists records?
Like I said I am knew at this. I would be interested in any info or help you could give. I am interested in looking for graves also. Are you around B'ham?Vicki
