Thanks for the reply Warren. Whether there is a link or not I don't know. However I don't know for sure that my Hamshaws orginated from Middlesex, I still haven't found the marriage cert from the previous message, though I think that John Bap(23.10.1803) Hamshaw's parent were Robert and Mary and that he was born in Chelsea, Middlesex. But I've no idea where Robert was born. There is a widowed Mary Hamshaw living with daughter Amelia in the 1851 census who is possibly mine and this Mary was born in Rutland,but Rutland Glos? Sorry I can't be of more help.
I have solved the mystery from the previous listing. Frederick Hamshaw was the person in question, he was born in 1864,was blind in the 1871 census and married Florence Quinn in Salford around 1900, she was also blind. Are you part of the Hamshaw family from Leicestershire that designed a car in the early 1900's?
