Obituary: Champaign-Urbana Courier, 13 Jan 1950:
ROY G HAMRICK, age 66, born 10 Aug 1889 in Tollesboro KY; son of WILLIAM & MARY OWENS HAMRICK. Formerly from the Mansfield community, Mr. Hamrick had lived in Champaign-Urbana for the last ten yrs. Leaves widow, the former EDNA WRIGHT, whom he married in 1915; two daus Mrs AUDREY ROSE of Buchanan, Michigan, MARY ELLEN HAMRICK at home; five sons WILLIAM S of Bend OR, JOSEPH M, ROY G, CHARLES E, and DAVID M; brother BRUCE HAMRICK of Dayton OH.
Further search of this line shows that WILLIAM H. HAMRICK (born April 1857 Tollesboro KY, son of THOMAS H HAMRICK & ALCE A SAVAGE) married MARY ELIZABETH OWENS on 30 Jan 1879 Tollesboro KY. She was born 27 Oct 1858, dau of LYCURGUS MORGAN OWENS & EMILY TYSON COLE.
