Patrica, You and I are cousins. James B was a brother of Carlos D. the doctor.

1840 census shows Issac and James(senior)in Tecumseh twp. Tecumseh, Michigan.

And the 1850 census shows the following:
James B. Hampton in Franklin twp.
Dudley, James (senior), Issac in Tecumseh twp.
Carlos D. and Clarissa in Medina twp.

There is at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor some historical records for the Hampton family of Michigan.

Dr.Carlos D. after the Civil War settled close to Petosky and Charlevoix. The family became involved in the paper business. In charlevoix there is a street named Hampton because one Hampton was the mayor of that city.

Ihave sent you an e-mail did you get It?
