I am a decendant of George Washington Hampton b1802, Jonathan Charles b1829, Alexander Selkirk b1853, Mark Clifton b1887, Monteen Hampton (Ledford), who was my mother.
My aunt, Laura Hampton Owen (now deceased) researched our genealogy and published "The Hampton Family History". She believed Andrew was our next grandfather but was unable to prove this. One of our old relatives could remember being in his grandfather's home and he was referred to as the Colonel. I do have a male cousin decended from the same line and have sent him a posting of Karl Hampton asking for DNA possibilities. I don't know if he is interested in doing this, or if it would help.
