Need info on parents/siblings of Amanda Jane (Hampton??), born in Ford Town, Sullivan Co., Tenn. in 1841.
She married Edmond H. Bishop in Jonesborough, Washington Co., Tenn. in Dec. 1861.
They lived in the Boone's Creek area until their deaths in 1907 and 1916.
Question is whether on not Amanda was born a Hampton -- or whether she married a Hampton prior to her marriage to Bishop in 1861.
Her various documents (pension applications, etc.) state that her parents were both b. Tennessee.
Help me determine whether to research Hamptons further, or whether her parents were some other surname.
