There is a James Gibson (b:1775), who was said to be from Mecklenburg, NC, and married widow, Martha Hampton Sylvester, in Sumter Co., SC, 1821. He was guardian of Harriett and John Bates. This Gibson moved to Gadsden Co., FL by 1830.
Would this James Gibson related to the George Gibson in these Mecklenburg Co., NC wills below?

I found a George Gibson, a John Gibson (census? 134 02 Twp 6) as residents in Mecklenburg 1762-1790 and a Patrick Hampton (census? 314 09 Twp 7).
