Hi Vicki,
Locating a few missing HAMPSONs is harder then looking for a needle in a haystack!
There is a Thomas Hampson tucked into the family prior to Benjamin Hampson in the early 1800s but we haven't been able to pin point where.So I don't think that your granddad is my Thomas!
I have proved back to Benjamin and Jane Orrell Hampson after locating a copy of their son,Rogers',birth certificate from 1851,in the UK.
If you are able to share anything to shed somemore light on this family,it would be great!
