Dedorah& Betty, several postings and lines state John Hammocks wife was a SELLARS. If there is some hesitancy accepting this I will offer some new information. I research the Walkers of Wilkes Ga, MOrgan and Jasper County.
JOhn Walker died in Rowan N.C. in 1803 and left a will. One of his daughters name was Rachael. She and her other brothers and sisters came to Wilkes County and settled on Lick Creek. Their other sister Hannah Kelly lived on Hardens Creek. The Hammocks were all neighbors and their names are on many documents for estate sales and settlements. One of the Walker brothers, Moses, died in 1832? in Jasper county leaving a will. He names his brothers JOhn, William and sister Rachael HAMMOCK in his will. I have seen records indicating the Hammocks lived in JAsper at one time.I have no other records or proof but I really think this should be pursued. I think my Rachael Walker married John Hammock. A copy of Moses Walkers will can be seen on website " ALL Known Moses Walkers". I hope this helps. HG Walker
