I grew up in Rotan, Texas. I noticed in your follow-up that you have a connection to Hammit in Rotan.
There were 2 families of Hammits in Rotan. Brothers married sisters. L.L. Hammitt married Punk Hodo (can't remember her real name) and I think it was R.L or something like that married Estaline Hodo. L.L. went by Slim and there were at least 7 kids - Raydell, Peggy, Jolinda, David, Earl Dean, Mara Beth and Merri. I may be missing one, I'm not sure. David and I graduated together in 1968.
The other couple have 3 kids - Dwight, Cheryl and Rhonda.
Of course, all are married with families. I can get in contact with David and Dwight if you think there might be a connection. They are all wonderful people.
