Maybole, the birth place for Margaret McConneel, is just 7-8 miles northeast of the site of the British Open. So,if you wish to get an idea of the area watch the TV broadcasts. It is aq great area. Benita and I visited Maqybole and Culzean Castle in 2006 from our House Exchange at Troon.Culzean Castle is part of an early County park and the Eleventh Earl of Cassillis was known as the Ämericna Earl. Although he made hisearly fortune as a British Naval Captain, he married into welol to do American Families and lived in New York when he become the Earl.
